4.1.1.1 Camera settings (Focus, Brightness, Zoom)

When reading barcodes with a camera, the camera’s adjustment and correction functions (focus, brightness, zoom) can be used to improve reading accuracy.

Focus adjustment

The focus distance can be manually set and fixed. The set focus distance is saved in the application and will be restored the next time the camera is launched.

Adjustment of Focus

To adjust the focus distance, press the (Focus) button to display the slider control.

Slider control (auto focus)
Slider control (manual mode)

Move the slider control knob to set the focus distance. The left side of the slider control is the close-up side, and setting it to the left end sets the auto focus mode.

Button display state:
auto: When auto focus is set.
M: When manual focus is set.

Brightness adjustment

Brightness can be set and fixed manually. Brightness settings are saved in the application and will be restored the next time the camera is launched.

Adjustment of brightness

To adjust the brightness, press the (brightness) button to display the slider control.

Slider control (brightness)

Move the slider control knob to adjust the brightness. The left side of the slider control is the negative side and the right side is the positive side. The default value is 0.0 at the center.

0.0: Brightness compensation value

Zoom Adjustment

The zoom level can be manually set and fixed. The zoom level you set is saved in the application and will be restored the next time the camera is launched.

Adjustment of Zoom

To adjust the zoom level, press the (Zoom) button to display the slider control.

Slider control (zoom)

Adjust the zoom level by moving the knob on the slider control. The left end of the slider control is the minimum level (equal magnification) and the right end is the maximum level. The default is equal magnification.

*If your camera does not support the adjustment function, the adjustment button for the unsupported function will not be displayed.
