4.1.1.2 Tap to Scan

When scanning a barcode with the camera, tapping (clicking) anywhere in the preview area provides the ability to acquire video data at that moment and execute the scan. When capturing, the focus and brightness are automatically adjusted to read more detailed image data. The tap-to-scan function also executes a more detailed barcode scan than a normal camera scan.

To perform a tap to scan, first start reading the barcode with the camera. See 4.1.1 Reading barcodes with a camera for information on how to start reading with the camera.

Tap to scan

When tapped, the focus and brightness are adjusted with respect to the center of the tap, and an image is acquired. A scan is performed on the acquired image.
*Focus and brightness may not be adjusted depending on the camera used.
